criminal records dont affect immigration status?

No, unless a person wants to apply for citizenship. You can't have a felony if you are applying for that. But there are ways around that too.

Well... here's what I'm thinking. Here's the potentially bad situation: If the two parties aren't married and aren't too close, then the girl could accuse the individual with the green card of raping her and could possibly get him thrown out of the country. The potentially good situation: The above situation gets on the news networks and the green card individual gets his 15 minutes of fame before getting thrown out of the country. Just what I'm thinking here.

Get thrown out for what?

Committing a crime doesn't mean deportation if you are a legal resident.

Legal/physical child custody issues may be a concern in regards to the parent holding a green card. I would ask the courts to stipulate that either parent may not remove the child from the country.

How is any of this relevant if the hypothetical girl in Ohio is 17?

Because it's rape, statatory rape no matter if she is over consenting age or not, he is 18 and over, an adult having sex with a minor is rape, and I believe the correct term is statatory rape.

IF the parents press charges you're screwed bud 🙂 It's jail time.

Well, committing a crime should be grounds for deportation even if the person is a legal resident. We have enough of a problem with our own criminals. Why keep other countries' criminals here?

The ability of a foreign national to work and reside here in the U.S is a privilege, not a right. If they commit a crime here (other than minor stuff like traffic violations) then they need to be deported.

Consenting age is for "coming of age' type thing. Meaning if you are under 18 and 16 or over, it's ok to have sex with anyone in that age group. If you are in that age group and have sex with someone younger, it's rape, because thy aren't of consenting age. If you are over 18, it's illegal to have sex with anyone under 18 due to it being an "adult" having sex with a "minor" ... it would also follow that p0rn of any "minor" (under age 18) is illegal, it's all about an adult taking advantage of a minor.

If charges aren't pressed, you're ok. But, fyi, you'd better pray she not get preggo, or at anytime they can press charges. Say you leave and don't care for the kid, that could come back at you anytime in your life.

Have fun 🙂

Yeah... pretty much.

And sorry, I just skimmed and didn't realize you were a legal resident.

You may be right, but that is not what the C&P said.
How is she a minor if she is over the age of consent?

Because they are two different things. EVERYWHERE in the US you are a minor UNTIL age 18. That is how it works. However, in most states, the age of consent is 16, meaning that you can consent to having sex, legally with other minors of your age group. Meaning:
Age of Consent < x < 18
Then you can have sex with x if you are in x. 🙂
However if you are over 18, and having sex with someone in group x, then, well, it's statatory rape.
+
However if you are in group x having sex with someone younger than the age of consent, the its rape.

edit: This is what I was told in a cwp class.
edit #2: My grouping has something to do with an "immoral" law in Washington. 🙂

I think ya'lls reasoning is wrong on the age of consent/minors issue.

If the age of consent in the state is 17, then that person can consent to having sex with anyone whether they are 19 or 49.

For the purposes of sexual relations that person is considered an adult. No criminal charges can be pressed.

That's what I was trying to say. From Trogdor's C&P -
(A) No person who is eighteen years of age or older shall engage in sexual conduct with another, who is not the spouse of the offender, when the offender knows the other person is thirteen years of age or older but less than sixteen years of age, or the offender is reckless in that regard.
