Individual A representing LLC A under individual A's name accepts electronics from me in excess of $1000. LLC A then pays me 1/3rd of the invoice and falls into financial despair. Individual A keeps claiming to pay, but will not return calls or e-mails.

Individual A claims LLC A is not going bankrupt, but almost 12 months have now passed and Individual A claims he simply cannot pay the rest of the invoice. If LLC A has NOT filed for bankruptcy, and they will not send any records.

Am I:

A) Screwed, move on
B) Able to take this to small claims court citing the $1000 payment (having no other evidence at this point of the transaction except e-mails between Individual A and myself)
C) Screwed, move on

how close are you to A's jurisdiction?

Can you just hold Kid A for ransom until you are paid?

1600 miles away, I would probably have to hire someone to represent me, and I'm rather ignorant of the costs of doing so, in which case it would probably cost more to sue than to just bite the loss.
