I don't see how it's our business to tell consenting adults what they can and can't do. I personally would never want more than one wife, and I would never want to marry another dude. But some people do, and I don't see why I should stand in their way.

How does same-sex marriage threaten traditional marriages. Heterocouples will still get married (and get divorced very quickly).

The sancitity of marriage is already trampled on. Most marriages end in divorce within several years anyways. Very few people try to uphold their vows and work out their problems. At least gays would have a chance to prove that they are normal people. Hell, they probably just want the tax breaks anyways, not some reverand reading their vows. The sancitity of marriage is gone and has been gone for a very long time.

I don?t see how not recognizing someone as married changes what they can or can?t do In their personal lives

it's all about the legal benefits.

imagine not being able to visit your wife in the hospital while she was on her death bed. and custody of your children automatically reverting to your wife's family because you forgot to cross a t on an adoption paper.

They can't be officially married. They don't receive the legal and societal benefits of being a married couple. This seems obvious to me.

But you're ignoring my real question. Why should we interfere? You're saying what's being done isn't really intereference, but why should we be doing anything?

Would that make it an adoplion? 😉

As long as everyone involved is happy with it and things it will be the best way to live their lives, then I have no problem with it.
