2011 was my 5th year living in IL. Does that make me a resident alien of IL?

I ask because I pass the substantial presence test.. and the IRS website states that I will be considered a Resident alien for tax purposes.

apply and see if they send you a FOID. between cost of foid and picture its like 17 bucks, worth a shot

I have no idea what the resident alien stuff is, but I am guessing thats up to ICE and not IL

You should be able to get one. Unfortunately IL requires this just to be able to *own* one, not take it anywhere.

OK, so obviously you are lying or have only lived there one week.

Wisconsin and Illinois both have the same problem. They are agricultural states with one major metropolitan area that causes all the problems. All the gun laws and stuff are specifically because of Chicagos bullshit.

Chicago most definitely DOES equal Illinois because thats where its located. Illinois does not necessarily mean Chicago, but the laws are similar across the whole state.

Go to range and see if you can rent. So much easier than buying.

As I mentioned in the OP, I rented 3 guns in total but the shooting range is located in Missouri.

I love Virginia. You can rent guns with suppressors and full auto stuff and shoulder mortars and all kinds of delightful weaponry. We buy handguns same day. No restrictions on long arms. Life is good.
