A navigation bar on the left would be really convenient. It's pretty obnoxious to navigate back to the index, then scroll around to change the forum

I believe the Side Menu would be better than the navigation bar at the very bottom since there are so many forums, plus it may give AT admins a place once again to place ads or other links and features (like search) where members can easily find them. It should be a option for members to allow or remove.

Great so we have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page (my netbook's End button requires use of a Function Fn key no thanks) and then click twice to do it.

Especially with everything moving to widescreens now, it only makes sense to use more horizontal space.
 
It was originally enabled, but has been disabled. Personally, I am glad it was disabled as it was annoying and a waste of space. Not sure if it can be set to a user choice, but I'll look.
 
I miss it as well. A way to personally enable it, or at least move that jump bar to the top, would be most welcome and make the VB 100% better than the old in my mind.
 
this is my biggest thing also. I always loved the cleanliness of the FT layout, not much wasted space.

In all honesty, vB's itself wastes a veritable shitload of space. If the layout was cleaner with less of the garbage "buffer" space, it'd be a lot more usable.

But anyway, an easy fix would be to adjust the template putting the jumplist that's at the bottom of the page somewhere near the TOP of the page.
 
as long as you are able to hide it like you could with FT im fine with it there. Personally i hated it and always had it hidden

in terms of navigation there needs to be "Top" and "Bottom" buttons at the top and bottom of threads so you dont have to scroll forever depending on your page view.

also this bit should be at the bottom as well and not just the top

Even the jumpbar isn't good enogh imo-- can't middle click on the jumpbar to open in a background tab.
 
I hated the side nav bar and had it turned off/hidden from day 1. I welcome the re-appearance of the jump bar. I do agree that having it on top as well as bottom would be beneficial.
