Ya, thats the America we live in. I mean who could image that leaving a negative feed back on ebay might actually cost you $7000, its so unfortunate that it seems unreal.
I remember a famous case where a home owner had to pay up coz the burglar cut himself on her kitchen knife, this one puts that to shame... OMG, everyday there are new stories that make me wonder which is worse? lawyer or politician...

I hope his eBay account gets review bombed for this (like what happened to the book written by the "expert" who called Mass Effect a sex simulator). The pity is that people would need to waste money on his junk to leave a review.
 
Never fuck with a lawyer. Honestly 99.9% of them give the other .1% a bad name.
A buddy of mine is a lawyer and owns several apartment buildings. Apparently one of his tenants skipped. He plans to sue this guy for game for the next decade and take everything he owns and then some.
 
The OP is misinterpreting the story. The Ebay seller filed a lawsuit-ie, he has asserted a legal claim. No court has found the buyer liable for anything yet-and if the facts presented in the story are remotely true I highly doubt he ever will be.

This does sound like one of those cases where enforcement of rules against frivilous suits is appropriate (assuming Florida has such a rule).

Uh, yeah, but the guy who is being sued is still losing thousands of dollars just to cover his legal fees (up to more than 7K right now).

He should counter-sue the seller for the legal fees + punitive damages. Given the evidence at hand[on how ridiculous it is to defend himself from this bs] , I don't see how he can't win.

Then he has to get a lawyer that would agree to take a case on spec that would probably only get a few thousands of dollars. The article states that his current lawyer dropped the case after the defendant ran out of money.
 
"ethics of a used car salesman" wasn't really necessary. Just state why you were wronged to help others and move on. Ahole lawyer still.

Someone else left negative feedback in Dec - wonder if he's "gonna sue gonna sue..gonna sue you!" [Weird Al song].

He's a scumbag asstard ebayer - doesn't leave feedback unless it's positive for him and doesn't leave [much] feedback for people who buy crap from him.

He needs a visit from a Dexter type character who scares the living shit out of someone who's vandalizing the neighborhood - a wake up call. 🙂
