As for creating, the edge goes to PF- they are really unique. Nobody to this day sounds like them. Their music concept was genius.

LZ just plain rocks. Their style is far from original, but they put it together in a way nobody else did before. Painful as it is, they lose points for not starting from scratch.

Dude... slap yourself. 😉

If LZ "put it together in a way nobody else did before", whatever 'it' refers to, then how is their 'style' not original.

It is unfair to say that PF created their music out of nothingness... PF did not start from scratch... not even close. And, IMO, many bands have somewhat successfully imitated PF's sound... Yes being one of them (mentioned in this thread).

Personally, I like zep and PF more or less equally.

Yeah, that came out poorly 🙂 Was typing while on the phone. Anyway, I meant that LZ took already used material and arranged it in a completely new way. So, their original idea was given to them, but they made it their own.

Better?

soft spot for Floyd, and I prefer them. But I vote Zeppelin b/c they have far too many damn good songs. Floyd has about 5 stellar albums, compared to Zeppelin's bajillions. Zeppelin appeals ot a wider audience, too.

Led Zeppelin, with out them we would not have 1/4 of the music today

And the other 3/4 wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Beatles.

and the beatles wouldn't have mattered where it not for Dylan getting them stoned and teaching them how to write music.

...so it always comes back to Dylan 😉

the beatles suck, btw 😛

Yep... although I'm not sure that the "used material" statement applies to most of LZ's good stuff.

It does. Nearly every song they had was influenced by someone's else's music. Name me a song and I'll tell you where it came from.

I can't make a choice between these two. Didn't vote.

I am usually in completely different moods when I listen to each band.

some of Floyd's stuff doesn't even sound like music though. don't get me wrong, i love Floyd... but...

:music:
I've got a bike. You can ride it if you like.
It's got a basket, a bell that rings and
Things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, ev'rything if you want things.

LSD is bad for you k?
