Edit: I just went and looked, and you can clearly see the lights reflected in the stone.

kinda old, but... mount them to the back side of the front of your cabinets, instead of directly to the bottom. They'll shine towards your walls, and you won't get the bad reflections.

Are leds waterproof by nature? Was wondering if I could put them outside under the deck railing (2x6) and have lights around the hot tub as long as the plug in and dimmer was located in a dry location.

I use LED rope lights for that application.

Just a note on power supplies: as stated above, any old 12V supply of sufficient amperage rating will do. The thrift stores around here have laundry baskets filled with them for about a buck a piece. It's just a matter of digging through the pile to pull out one that will work.

Speaking of amperage, anybody know what kind of juice these pull?

I'm thinking of adding them to my shed and running off a lead-acid battery that will be recharged by a small solar panel.

The ones that Greenman was talking of in his first post pull at 5 meters in length, 72W or .6A. You have to pay attention to the specs because it's dependent on how many LED's there are per foot and the type of LED's themselves. There are a number of variables.

Unfortunately, the Amazon page doesn't seem to give info on the W/lamp or W/meter.
