I have a Troy-Built Storm XP snowblower, the light bulb continually breaks. I want to replace it with an LED if possible.

This is the part number according to the manual: 925-04213
This is what it looks like.

Can anyone help me find an LED replacement for it? Thanks!

You need to find the generic bulb number first. Then you can probably source an LED bulb that will fit the same socket.

There are multiple bulbs that look like that, but they're made with small differences to fit different applications. You might find a single filament bulb of the same physical size that has the little locking nubs at the bottom in different locations.

If nothing else, take it to the local parts store and start looking through the electrical/lighting isle. You probably won't find an LED, but you'll find a number for what fits. Then type that number and 'LED' into eBay...and make sure the seller's not actually in China.

1156 LED replacement. Used commonly as a backup light on cars.
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. This is what my light kit looks like (the one in the middle, not the attachment).

Do you think that this light would be fine as far as brightness and reflectiveness: Bulb 1 or would this item be fine?

Well, if you're getting china-made bulbs, might as well source them from china. Get like 3 or 4 for the same price as one, just have to wait an extra week or 2. They'll work, and if they blow, just swap them out.

An 1156, if it fits, would be dimmer, but probably last a lot longer.

He has the bulb. At least I would assume he does. He's really in the best position to figure out what kind it is. If it's not marked, again, just go match it against the parts store selection.

It's a headlight bulb, so 1295 makes much more sense. Most parts houses list it as a 1295.

Light Bulb
Item #1842081 (OEM Part)
$2.40
Lamp:#1295
Genuine OEM Part - Manufacturer #925-04213

1156 LED is the replacement for a 1295 lamp. There is no direct LED replacement for a 1295.

Well, the 1295 is much higher wattage than the 1156...about 50% higher, so the 1295 is likely a considerably brighter bulb than an 1156.

Any particular reason you want LED for this application?

I've replaced two bulbs in 8 years on a 'fleet' of six blowers that run 50-100 hours a year. And one of those was due to physical damage.

1295 is rated for 100hours

And 37.5 watts ~600 lumens...

The ones I see are mostly 200 hour bulbs, though.

But yeah, it's a much brighter bulb than an 1156, and you have to see what you're doing at night...

If he can get along with 28 watts ~400 lumens, then an 1156 is rated for 1200 hours...
