LED Pin Configuration, ARGG

Whenever I build a new box, I never remember how to setup all those LED lights on my case. I would think that the little arrow on those LED signified pin 1, but when I put the plugs on the board, as if it were pin 1, some work, and some don't...I don't get it at all, can somebody give me some information as to how the LED configuration should be. And also how to test if it is working properly (I know the reset button should work, if the reset plug is placed properly, but it didn't seem to work either way).

If I know what pin is pin 1 on the board, what is a sure fire way of getting the plugs in correctly?:disgust:

Each mobo has its own LED map in the mobo manual. You really need that. If you don't have one, you can download it as a PDF file.

LEDs work only one way. If it doesn't work one way, just reverse the plug. Pretty soon you can tumble on to the pattern used by your particular mobo. There is no defined standard that I have observed. Sometimes the plug is print side up . . . sometimes down.
