I have a Asus P5GD1 board, I have installed a P4 3.2 and connected the heat sink fan. I have connected the System Panel connetions, and then the ATX12V connection to see if it will power up(power supply doesnt have the EATXPWR connector). The case doesn't have a case open connection or function. I have a power tester and the power supply is good so what am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated!! 🙂

What Model\Make\Power Rating is the PSU?

If you are using a 20 + 4 pin power connector(s) the PSU must be
rated @15A for the +12V or it will not power up.

The board is a P5GD1 socket 775, the power supply is ATX 12 V 2.0, 24 pin and 4 pin 400 watt. I Have a feeling its a bad board. I tried the power supply on a tester and it was fine. Cant seem to get any juice to the m/b. Any one have any other thoughts? Thanks! 😉

In the first message you stated it 'doesn't have the EATXPWR connector'.

If you do have a 24 pin connector hooked to the board, try clearing the CMOS.
Also, remove everything from the Panel connectors but the PWRSW (yellow 2-pin connector)

As amazing as it might sound, I've seen plenty of people not use standoffs and just bolt their motherboard straight to the mobo tray. You know better than that, though, right? 😀

Could you clarify whether your power supply is 20-pin main or 24-pin main? You say it's "24-pin ATX 2.0" which is self-contradictory. If you don't have a proper 24-pin PSU for a board that's designed for one, it seems prudent to go and get one (a good-quality one) whether that's the actual issue or not. What brand and model of PSU do you have, anyway?

I'm must have wrote that after the twelve pack. Sorry! It is the correct power supply for that chipset, jsut cant seem to get power when attached to the m/b. I am some what of a noob but not that bad, I installed the stand offs. I am going to try another power supply in a few minutes, so we shall see.
