Okay, I've got the power and HDD led leads hooked up to the right pins on the motherboard, and those LED's are working as desired. Here's my

However, I was wondering what these I and II leads are (on an Antec case). What should I hook them up to? I'd like to get them hooked up to my optical drives, but wouldn't know where to plug them in. Would there be pins on my MSI K7N2 nforce2 mobo, or would I (somehow) hook the leads up to my optical drives.

Thanks!

yeah this is where i'm confused...the 1 HDD led covers both of my hard drives (now that I think of it I guess every computer I've had has done this), but the manual says that the "I" and "II" led's can be used for whatever you want.

The manual for my mobo is cryptic and has always sucked. Nothings labeled on the mobo PCB. I guess I could break out my voltmeter, but don't really want to if somebody else has an answer!

LED indicators I and II can be used as seen fit..SCSI,Message LED,etc. or any other function supported by your mobo, expansion cards, and peripherals
I'd just bundle them out of the way for now..unless you got something you want to have a status light light up..

thanks scrapsilicon, this answers my question. My mobo isn't labeled well, so I'd have to voltmeter to find the pins I guess.

Thanks everyone!

There likely is only one LED header on the board for IDE activity, and it'll probably only light up when hard drives are active.
I've got an SLK3700AMB, along with a Promise SX4000. Between that and my motherboard, I've got 3 sets of headers for IDE activity - one on the motherboard, two on the Promise card.
Without another IDE controller, you'll only have the means to light one HDD LED, unless you open a CD drive and solder the other LED wires to the right place on it.
