In this weeks ad:

Both are "SuperBright Brand"

3-LED Flashlight #LED-513
3 Super-Bright White LEDs
Includes batteries (2xAA)
All aluminum casing (Blue and Silver, don't know if more colors avail)
Reg $14.99, Sale $6

Xenon Tactical Light #XEN-100
Super Bright
Pressure switch with manual flash mode
Includes long-life lithium battery
Reg $29.99, Sale $15

I picked up the last of the LED lights at my closest location. Nice for $6. Doesn't feel quite as solid as a 2xAA Maglite, but the LEDs last a real long time. And can't beat $6. Still looking to see if I can pick up one of the Tactical lights.

Nice little lights to throw in your toolkit 🙂

Thanks for the heads up. I have a Surefire G2, but I'd also like a LED flashlight since it doesn't use up the batteries as fast.

I picked up the Xenon one. It's pretty good. It's not as bright as my Surefire G2, but it's still pretty bright (Xenon is rated at 60 Lumens for 110min, G2 is rated 65 lumen for 60min).

They didn't have the $6 light, but I'll probaly go back within the week to see if they have it then.

Perspective ......

Me: holding up a blister pack 3 LED headlamp that has the top of the package cut off (best buy return I thnk), how much?
Swapmeet lady: $5.
Me: after fishing around in a box and finding a lose one, how much for the one with no package?
Swapmeet lady: $5.
Me: how about $4?
Swapmeet lady: should be $7, I give you $2 off, $5.
Me: shrug and put it back in the box of stuff. Meh, its a cheapo and uses 2x AAA, next weekend is the big swapmeet and I really world prefer something using 2x AA. Also talking to my banker to see if $5 is ok.

I don't get it...the $6 one is 2xAA 🙂

I just picked up the Xenon-Li model at the Burbank, CA store. Not bad, but the push switch on the first one didn't work reliably, so I swapped it for another. Be sure to test it before you drive away. You have to remove a plastic disk inside before the batteries will connect. The batteries alone are probably worth the $15.

I noticed that the push switch on mine doesn't work reliable either. I'm gonna try to exchange it today. Did you have to pay a restocking fee?

I went back to my truck and tested it before driving away, so I marched right back in and got a replacement with no hassle or fee. The clerk and his mgr were both helpful.

I don't have the light with me at the moment, but I think it takes two "CR123" type batteries. I found this site CopQuest that has these in bulk, starting at $12.50 for a 5-pack of "generic" Korean batteries. That's a lot less that other sites I checked. (They also have brand names.) I think a 10-pack would be a good addition to a home emergency kit with this light.

I found the tactical flashlight for 16.00 but not the LED one. It's not bad decent light. I might go back and pick up another one to throw one in my toolbox and one in my car. For my real flashlight needs, i have my handy (well not really handy) 6-D cell maglight 😀

I like the Xenon light. The beam is plenty bright, but I haven't compared it to other brands. You can adjust the sensitivity of the pushbutton or disable it by turning the base of the flashlight, just as you can turn the base to keep the light on. Unlike a Maglite, the beam doesn't seem to adjust much from a spot to a broad spread.

Thanks for the link, ardenJ. I will stock up with some batteries and spare bulbs. I'll see if I can snag another of these at Big 5.

if anyone in WA comes across some, please let me know. I've checked 2 stores and I got the last $6 at one, the other was completely out.

I need 4 more of the $6 for work and 1 of the $15 for myself.

All out of $6 and I just bought the last two Tactical ones @ University District, WA store. Nice little light 🙂
