LED backlight LCDs

I saw multiple LED-LCD product announcements in the tech news a month or so ago but I cant find any solid information regarding prices release dates etc...

Anyone have some info on this?

I thought there were a couple on the market? But maybe I was just reading "coming soon" sorts of announcements.

In any case, they are brutally expensive, which is probably what is holding them back from mass production.

Yeah, they are available but they are high end goods for the time being. We should see mainstream stuff pretty soon.
