lebron will never be the best player in the league

It's simple, Lebron > Kobe, let them play 1 on 1 and Kobe will get his ass handed to him 7/10 times. Kobe has had a better team so obviously he has the rings. Now Lebron's on a good team shit will change.

You must have just started watching basketball, because MVP is decided before the playoffs.

The only MVP that matters is the Finals MVP. I'm sure Lebron would trade his regular season MVPs for one ring/Finals MVP.

Nash never has been/never will be the best player in the league.

Name another player aside from Bird in NBA history that turned a team that had <30 wins to >60 the very next season after they arrived. Bird in 79-80 when he won ROY and Nash in 04-05 when he won MVP. Nash has only had one season with <50 wins since he came to PHO.

You probably didn't follow basketball back then.

Tim Duncan. And yes Nash was every bit deserving of his MVP award the first time. The second time was debatable.

Duncan led his team to 56 wins when he got there which is still impressive. Nash 62, Bird 61. For a combo, I found KG + Ray Allen (24 to 66) when they got to Boston.

If you read the link, Nash actually posted even better numbers his 2nd MVP year vs his first (pts, reb, FT perc, 3pt perc in 4 more games) and still won 54 with Amare gone the whole season. When he came back, they won 61 the next year. Those 4 years were Nash's prime although this year he was great again.

Nash/Amare are very reminiscent of Stockton/Malone, the only time the Utah Jazz won <41 games from 1984-2003 happened once when they were both injured that year. Nash/Amare's lowest win total is 46 since 2004.

Heh, I love those puppet commercials.

Lebron doesn't wear #23 anymore though. He's switched to #6 for the upcoming season.

He was going to get rid of the number in honor of Jordan, but I wonder how he feels now that Jordan already blasted him for going to Miami? Jordan had a point, but at the same time I think Wade and LeBron will have a chance of making a great duo. As long as they stop thinking about stats and start looking at winning, they can mow down everyone.

I think he just *said* he wanted to "honor Jordan", but honestly I think he didn't want to be identified with the same number as Jordan - his ego wouldn't allow it.

Could be. He is a big Jordan fan, but who isn't? I can definitely see him thinking one day he'll have to retire and wants his own number.

If you can turn a team that went 29-53 into a 62-20 perennial winner overnight you are the MVP. If you also lead the league in assists, FT percentage + 18 pts/game and come back from 3-1 to beat Kobe in the playoffs you will win MVP. You probably just started following basketball, it's ok.

i'm not arguing whether he's deserving of MVP or not.
i said MVP != best player.

fail

lebron had the best record in the league the last 2 seasons so let's not say the cavs team was shitty. but more power to the chosen one if he needs 2 other all stars to win a ring.

Isnt Lebron the one that got schooled by a 3rd grader and then tried to hide the video from everyone?

Didnt Lebron say Kobe is better?

Didnt Jordan say Kobe is better?

lebron said it cuz he would have looked stupid calling himself the best player in the nba.
hell he would have won the championship this year if it wasn't for his "elbow" LOL

Lebron said it so he could come across as humble, nobody outside of Ali or Mayweather will say they're the greatest. It's impossible he believes it, because he's a better player. Kobe has rings because the Lakers are a much better team than the Cavs ever were. Better team = more rings. Who would have thought that? Let the NBA start up a 1on1 street ball type league Kobe will get schooled hard by Lebron.

And who cares what Jordan says? He's an arrogant prick who is merely stating his opinion. Last time I checked he's not in the league and hasn't played against Lebron. The fact is Lebron was the MVP of the league 2 years in a row is all that needs to be said.

And to the other haters Nash definitely deserved it his 1st MVP, and it's a coin flip for the 2nd. Maybe he didn't deserve it but he was right near the top. Nash is a HOF player and anyone who tries to discredit his MVP rings is crazy.

He annointed himself "King James", and you think he cares about looking stupid?

Elbow? Que?

That might just be the cover story. Could be he already knew he was going to Miami, and would not be able to wear #23 there since they retired it.
