I don't hear anyone accusing Lebron of cheating and giving std's to anyone.

I don't agree with not congratulating Orlando but one kink in his armor (that he'll learn from) makes him on his way to being a so-called rapist?

That's a fvcking cowardly conclusion. Lebron has shown as much class in the league and outside it as anyone in the league imo.

I agree, and if James goes on TV a week after the loss saying his teammates all suck and demanding to be traded, I will put him one step closer to Kobe. Kobe is a bitch after losing, and continues to be for weeks to follow. I'm sure James will regain himself and say "we lost, we'll come back next year and win" But, if he does pull a Kobe, I will definitely think less of him.

The only thing Lebron is hinting at is that he is EXTREMELY satisfied playing for the Cavs. They've surrounded him with veterans and promising young players. I live about 5 minutes away from their brand new, multi million dollar practice facility (Cleveland Clinic Courts) and it is PHENOMENAL. Dan Gilbert (owner of the team) has invested a lot in the team - way over the salary cap. I do think Lebron leaves the Cavs eventually ... but only when he's past his prime. The Cavs can offer more money and more years than any other team in the league come 2010. All the "he's leaving" talk is unwarranted pompous bullshit from Knicks fans who can't live with the fact their team can't even make the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs EMBARASSED the Knicks on their home floor earlier in the season.

Lebron's priorities in signing with a team is "putting [himself] in a position to win multiple championships." New York is not in a position to win multiple championships. New York does not play lights out defense like the Cavs (unless they're playing ORL). Lebron knows defense wins championships.

If Mo Williams hits his open 3s like he SHOULD have in the ORL series, you'd be looking at a Game 7 tonight.

And rape a girl and say his teammates suck, and do nothing when the #2 players on the team is traded. Kobe could have said 5 words and the management at the Lakers would have asked Shaq to stay. Shaq may, or may not have. But he wasn't asked, because Kobe wanted all the shine to himself. So by being a selfish prick instead of putting the team first. They haven't won a ring since. And there's a good chance if Shaq had stayed the Lakers would have 1, maybe 2 rings more. Karma's a bitch and I don't think any amount of rings would make Lebron turn into Kobe. Lebron is a better player, and has yet to show nearly as many asshole qualities as Kobe.

How is Lebron a 'complete piece of shit'? Because he got upset after a loss? Really? Yes, he acted like a child, but everyone does at some point.

Personally, I can't blame him. The expectations were there. It looked like the team was there. This was supposed to be their year and they blew it (or got exposed, depending on how you look at it). So, yeah, fault him for walking off the court, but remember it's really the first time he's ever done that and, IMO, it makes sense.

As for his on-court actions, again I have zero problems with what he does. He's a competitor. He gets fired up. He tries to intimidate. Since when are basketball players supposed to be nice? After laying down a dunk or slicing and dicing your opponent's defense, why shouldn't you show a little emotion? Remember that play Howard got that technical for talking after the play? Yeah, that technical was so fucking ridiculous that the NBA completely rescinded it.

God forbid we let players care about the game or let their emotions show every once in a while.

why can't you be a great player and a nice guy? those aren't mutually exclusive.
what's with these NBA sized ego's?

dwight howard seems the closest to a genuine good guy great player, but of course he's nowhere near the level of lebron/kobe in terms of ability.
tim duncan is another.

There are a lot, Duncan is a great player and a team player, Shaq is the best big man the game has ever seen and is generally loved. I bet most of Kobe's teammates dislike him but don't speak out due to fear and the fact he's the biggest reason they might win a ring. I could see many going on to speak very badly of him once they retire. It's sad the only real thing it takes to get into the hall of fame is your ability. If they factored in shit like being a team player and how they handled themselves after not winning a title. Kobe wouldn't be accepted. I predict Magic takes this, and Kobe goes on to blame his teammates and cry "I WANT TO BE TRADED TO A REAL TEAM!"

Wow, you can read minds AND predict the future?

Kobe's a d-bag, but calling him a rapist is a bit much.

I take it you never read the police interview before his lawyers got to him. There is a reason they were fighting tooth and nail to keep that out of court records.

Link? Just read the wiki with the police statement stuff, nothing in there sounds like rape.

I base my predictions off of past events. It's not like Kobe has never cried and asked to be traded, a few seasons ago he was in full motion carrying on about being traded to the Bulls (of all teams) and there have been other instances. So it would be a safe bet to say he's going to do it this year. He didn't do it last year because he knew in his mind the Celtics were a far better team than the Lakers. But if the Magic beats him, he will lose it. His demands of being traded are almost guaranteed. I would easily bet $1,000 on it, that's assuming the Magic actually wins.

I would take that bet seeing as how he can simply opt out of his contract with no need to demand a trade.

what are you talking about? that was a "follow through".

kidding and intentional violence aside, that's amazing concentration and skill to see a defender coming from his peripheral, time and aim the elbow to his face after the shot blocked, land and regain composure, jump, catch the ball and shoot it again all in one motion in a couple of seconds.

Kobe likes to make a fuss as he's a huge attention whore. If there is a clause in his contract (I don't follow him so I didn't know this...) I change my bet to he will opt to leave, but not before he makes a huge stink about it on TV and to all the newspapers. It will take a lot of work on his part to make sure everyone in the world knows he's the greatest player in the league. And the Lakers loss lays solely in the hands of his shitty teammates.

why the hell are they talking about this on houston sports talk radio? we've got the texans in OTAs, rumors that the astros are going to fire their manager, the longhorns having made it to the super regional for the first time since they won the CWS in 2005, the aggies out of the baseball tournament, rice playing for their season tonight, etc.

anyway, the only sport where it's tradition for the players to shake hands with the other team after losing in the playoffs is hockey. in baseball you don't see the opposing team coming over to the dog pile and congratulating them for winning the world series. i'm pretty sure michael jordan didn't congratulate isiah thomas.
