I play CS Source every day on a semi-overclocked 6600GT. i think it's 540/1120...or somewhere near there...

I leave it on spectator mode when i'm at work...then i come home and play. I basically made my computer a Source Machine. It's been like this for the passed 3 days. Basically, playing CSS for 72hours straight.

Is this a good idea? Should i turn off my computer everytime i'm done with using it?

Well, if you leave the game actually *running* (in spectator mode), you're wasting a lot of power, since the graphics card and CPU will be going basically 100% all the time. The extra heat would probably not be good for the lifespan of your components, either. I'd suggest at least exiting the server and leaving it sitting at the main menu, as this won't tax the GPU and should have pretty minimal CPU load.

That said, other than the potential for your parts wearing out faster (which could still take years), and the extra electricity you're wasting... no, it's not going to hurt anything.

i'd turn it off..
leaving it on and play immediately when you get back only saves you about 2min...no big deal
