3. Religion

Anyone who says "psychology" is a fvcking clueless moron because it has way more application in various fields in the real world than most majors.

Unbiased opinion from a psych major I would presume ;)

Yeah. Especially considering that philosophy, mathematics, and economics majors score the best on law school entrance exams. :p

While that may show that they are smart... philosophy is not necessarily a background designed for law school (at least not the way bio or mcb is for pre-med). Even my philosophy teacher makes that joke.

Then again... I'm not a philosophy major so I wouldn't know.

;) I know... hehe. Most of my friends have Comm majors and music minors. They're pretty much having a blast working in several radio stations and recording studio's. (while I'm still Pre Med/Bio Chem..surrounded by Asian, Indian/beloved patriot girls :disgust: Not bad but.. not many that look good :( )

I have the opportunity to go visit them at their interships... the atmosphere is so laid back, people are open to any conversation and girls are HOT :Q I understand why Howard Stern does not quit :)

In reality, without real world experiance all degrees are simply paper, expensive paper.

A B.F.A and a B.A in Theater are perfectly relevent for say animators.

Speech Communication and Political Science are good for some people wanting to go to Law School

Religion, is good if you want to be a pastor, etc, hey they can make some good money.

Every degree has its uses, some require graduate school to make them really worth it.

There is no truely useless degree. However there are people that pick a major, not knowing what the want to do, then dont end up using it, then calling it useless.

Studio Art should not be on that list. Most younger animators these days have B.F.As. Sculpture, Drawing, Painting and Design are all pretty relevent degrees if you plan on becoming an animator. Although not required it does really help matters these days.

Useless...as in what? As in able to receive a job in a tech-related field immediately after graduation? English is pretty useless, I'd say. :D

Then again, I want to be a teacher, where an English degree is a good degree to have. ;)

A degree is only useless if you have no clue what you want to do. Its useless to go to school just to get a degree, unless you know what you want to do.

Take for example someone that gets a biology degree. They dont want to be a lab rat(researcher), nor go on to med school, or be a teacher. What they are, are DUMBASSES, its not the degree thats useless, its THEM.

those are my three majors and they havent done JS for me just yet

Well why did you get them? What did you want to do? Did you just go to school and not intern? Did you not have a plan or goal?

Im willing to bet its not the degrees, its you, and your goals that are causing problems.

Getting a B.F.A in Sculpture, thats my main objective.

I might also get a B.A in Computer Science, or a B.A in theatre.

More than likely a B.F.A with a minor in computer science. Ill more than likely end up transfering to UNT to finish my degree(s).

If I could transfer to SCAD, it would be dual B.F.As, one in animation, and one in digital media and game design. But

1. Id have to get applicable letters of recommendations, which I might be able to get, some time, I dont have them currently and I wouldnt have 'em for next falls.
2. I wouldnt be able to afford the $20,000 per year tuition.
