Actualy, that is bad analogy because different bullets are going to do different amounts of damage and inflict different amounts of pain.

More correctly, ethyl alcohol is ethyl alcohol. There are quite a few different types of alcohols, most of which you don't want to be drinking.

Stupidest thing I've ever heard.

You get drunk when the alcohol gets into your blood.
Your liver converts the alcohol in your blood to other substances.
So no, it doesn't skip your liver. It still goes through your liver whether it was absorbed into the blood by your stomach and intestines or by your lungs.

Why would it be better for your lungs to be exposed to alcohol instead of your stomach?
The only advantage I can see is maybe it causes less nausea.

Actually there are quite a few studies out that indicate that moderate use of alcohol is beneficial rather than bad for your health. Of course that presumes that your main goal is to enjoy a good beer, wine, or distilled spirit rather than just trying to get hammered as quickly as possible.:beer:

huffing vapours is just asking for brain damage. i seriously doubt
the doctor was suggesting Vodka as a less damaging substitute for
alcohol intake. The only reason for which i can imagine him suggesting it is that
it wouldn't cause fat build up which would compound your friends problems.
Getting your friend drunk with fewer calories, might be his aim
but regularly drinking hard liquor is much worse
than drinking beer.
