I don't know too many with an opinion of him, but you and someone I know genuinely hates him with a passion. I don't get it. He seems like a regular dude in the most in-offensive roles.
I usually organize a bar meet up for a friends birthday for the past several years. When I have to contact the Bill Paxton hater, I have to mention it during the invite..."Bill Paxton will be there." Or, "Bill Paxton has declined the invitation with regret."

When he tries to kick Cary Elwes' ass in Twister is just about the funniest scene ever. "I like your weather reports." Oooh, BURN! :biggrin:
And how could you not like him in Aliens? "We're on an express elevator to hell; going down!" 😀

He does play a tool in K2 though.
 
Rooney's Mr. Yunioshi, John Wayne's Ghengis Khan, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe's Robin Hood, and whenever Keanu Reeves needs to talk with an accent.
