Leaning about TVs, please help

OK, to begin, I'm in analog hell right now, with an older CRT set in the bedroom and and newer one in the living room. Just got a Sony blu-ray player and have streaming video, Pandora, etc. Next move is to replace the b/r set with a 32 in. LCD (biggest we can put where the TV needs to be). Sony makes a model with built in wireless:

My question is, would such a TV be able to use the blu-ray player as a sort of access point for streaming, or would it get its signal from the wireless router, as the player does? I ask because the TV would be on the other side of the house and my old WRT54G doesn't put out that strong of a signal as it is. We've been using 90s era video technology for about as long as we've been able to, and this player is the first item in a move toward HD and that newfangled connection, HDMI 😉

I'm scratching my head a bit here to decide exactly what you're trying to do. Are you wondering if the TV supports HDMI 1.4's Ethernet channel so you can share an Ethernet connection between the Blu-Ray player and the TV, which will only be connected to the player?

If so, I see nothing in the specs about supporting Ethernet-over-HDMI. However, the TV does have an Ethernet port:

The best thing to do in this situation is to get a second router and place it near the tv and bridge that to the first routers connection. That will expand your wireless coverage and will remove any problems with connecting the tv or the bluray.
 
Yes, the above solution occurred to me after I initially posted. I was hoping I could somehow use the blu-ray player in the LR for content on the BR set (especially if that TV has wireless capability), but it looks like it will need its own player and router. Thanks.

He'll still have the same issues with connection capabilities though.
