Perhaps not really new info, but it coincides with some of what we have been hearing

<< ...Nvidia has also built in technology to reduce overdraw - drawing one polygon then drawing another on top it because it's 'closer' to the viewer - which apparently leads to improved performance as the triangle count increases. That, reckons Nvidia, will lead to a two- to sevenfold improvement over the GeForce 2 Ultra, depending on the number of polygons in the image - the more there are, the better the improvement.
...The NV20 is also said to offer significantly improved anti-aliasing - it's up to four times faster than the GeForce 2 Ultra.
...Much of NV20's performance gains will come from its support of 250MHz double data rate (DDR) SDRAM. The chip's core clock is said to be higher than the GeForce 2 Ultra, which runs at 250MHz.

Yes, sounds very good 😉 Don't spoil our fun Dave, I know you'll probably say that the claims are bogus and such😛

I don;t know guys, but there seems to be an awful lot of spec leaking concerning the NV20 lately, think there's something going on with this?

It just seems every place on the web has the specs for the NV20, and by the looks of it, 250-300 core, 250-300DDR mem, HSR and loopback. There's just too many rumours going around to say that those specs are speculation....

what's up with that "2-7 fold" thing. that's a pretty large scale. oh yeah, 3dfx's new rampage is going to be uhh, 2-9 times faster than the v5 5550. like that really means anything.

edit, i was just bullcrapping about the rampage. just in case you didn't know... i was using it as a dumb comparison.

Looks sweet. So do rumored Rampage specs. I'm glad that I'm not getting a new card this round, I won't be getting one until summer or so, it looks to be a tough match.

hmm. for the sake of people like me I hope they integrate some nice multimedia faatures.
The Geforce is king of gaming, but when it comes to gaming+multimedia ATI is best. If I were to buy a video card right now, I'd get the radeon 64mb. Who care's if I lose 5 fps when I can have ViVo?

Personally I am looking forward to the Radeon2. The current radeons are not bad, but they woulndt be able to stack up to the next gen cards.

Until ATi gets some decent Win2k drivers, I'll pass.

But I will say that their hardware is top notch.

Go back and reread that, it says DirectX 8 will make older cards obsolete, and the person stating that is a 3DLabs guy not a Nvidia guy. I'm sure we will know the offical specs next month.

<< Earlier this week, head of UK graphics chip developer 3DLabs, Nick Trevett, claimed DirectX 8.0 was going to render - pun not intended - all existing chip architectures obsolete. >>

<off topic begin> Talking about death, is it over for Chrysler? I knew we could never trust those German bastards, look what happened to the Russians when they thought they had a peace treaty with Hitler in 1940. <Off topic rant End>.
