No doubt.

It's been rumored (I never looked into these types of rumors, but they made sense to me) that plenty of other pirated software that's available is full of backdoors and whatnot. So this isn't exactly surprising.

No rumor - its absolutely true. All those "free" warez people find are not intact products.
