I received a Leadtek Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe for Xmas. I installed the card and a driver box came up asking if I wanted WHQL'd drivers or Teletext drivers. I chose WHQL because that was default.

What exactly is teletext? I'm trying to get the channel guide to automatically pick up my channels and stuff so I can schedule recordings. The manual talks about teletext / EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) and I can't get it to work. I know my cable offers EPG because my old PC (HP Media Center Edition) was able to pick up all of the channels and stuff. BTW, I still have my old HP Media Center CDs, would they work in my new HP Pavilion w/ leadtek TV tuner card? So here are my questions you NEED to answer for me:

(1) What is teletext?

(2) Does the EPG (Elec. Program Guide) require teletext?

(3) Do I need to install teletext or WHQL drivers?

(4) Will Windows Media Center Ed. work with my rig?

Thanks!

1. Teletext is a service offered by broadcasters for hearing impaired people. Think subtitles.

2. No

3. The latest WHQL drivers from the Leadtek Site provide Teletext support anyways.

4. I have no clue.

Megatomic - Thanks buddy. Now, my question is:

(1) How do I get EPG to work? It took me to some website with TV listing when I clicked on EPG.

The Leadtek card uses the TitanTV Website to schedule broadcasts, just go through the user registration on that website and it will allow you to select your cable company, etc. and then all you have to do is beside the show you want to watch, hit record and it will put it in your queue to be recorded. Enjoy the card, just make sure you download the newest drivers and software off the Leadtek website, it will make life a lot easier for you.

Glad to help, and jdogg707 is right. Follow that advice and you are all set.

Btw, I lub my Leadtek. I use it more than my CD-R/W and almost as much as the video card. :)

Thanks guys, I registered on Titan's website. I'll take it from there, thank you! Oh, final question:

How do I know what framerate the program is running at?

Framerate? I don't think framerate is concern with TV. I think it is standard at 24fps IIRC.

One last question:

Any of you have the latest drivers for this card? Leaktek FTP is extremely slow for me no matter what connection I try. 3mbps / down @ home, neither server will work. 2mps down / 2mps up @ work and it is just as slow. Can any of you host the PVR software and driver updates for me? Or send to me? Thank you so much guys.

I was considering buying one of these cards. Does this card supports PAL signals since the signal in my area is in PAL format?? If yes, then is anything special or modification to the card needed for getting PAL signals???
