Leadtek Winfast TV2000 problems

fake

Okay, this card is pretty cool. However, I have a few problems.

1. The screen goes full-screen when I hit some channels. I have no idea why it does this, but for example -- if I'm watching and hit up to get to 46, bam it goes full screen. Wtf?!

2. Is there a way to make the interface less-lame? It has all these annoying flashing doohickies. All I want is a simple window without the extraneous stuff.

Thanks..

You might be able to use dscaler as your tv program. It worked with my old Hauppauge, but I haven't tried it with my Leadtek. Sorry, I haven't had the full screen problem.

Yea, its very odd. Any ideas? Or any thoughts on a way to make the interface less obstructive?

Learn to love the interface. Dscaler I don't think will work well with your Tuner due to it using the WDM driver model which isn't supported by Dscaler...?

I use an earlielr version of Leadtek's drivers....maybe the fullsize bug is a product of the latest version?

That card works fine with Dscaler... I'd use that and wouldn't bother with the software that came with it. Image quality will be better.

i have the same full sizing screen problem as fake.
(the problem happens whether i use the original or the newer WHQL drivers)
that and my remote control seems to have stopped functioning.

i tried using dscaler but i don;t know what tuner i have.
the 3.0 release version doesn;t detect the tuner.

does anyone know what model it is?
that is; the tuner chip on the Leadtek xp2000 board?

Just got mine. No problems but have a newbie question. Want to recorde to make vcd or svcd, I see one of the capture settings is vcd ntsc or vcd pal. Which one should I use pal ot ntsc and what codec would I have to download to get svcd as a choice?

Thanks

Were do you live? In north america you probably need NTSC, elsewere probably PAL.

I'm guessing at that because I haven't gotten my TV tuner yet.

Should I go with the all in wonder 9700 Pro, or get a 9700 Pro and the Leadtek TV tuner?

I don't have that full screen problem, but i do have a pip problem. I will press "pip" on my remote or click it on the screen and it says "pip is on" yet there's no pip. Weird prob indeed. It was working a few days ago.

doesnt the PIP work only if you are recording something?

I have never had any problems with the winfast 2000 software,
Do you guys think that the picture in descaler is better? I thought the software in winfast has its own descaler feature.
The software with wnifast is pretty easy to use. I use it a lot to record tv shows and basketaball games its pretty much choose a format hit the record button.
The recorder timer also works well.

peace

Don't know what software you installed, but have you tried the latest software and drivers? I don't have any problems with my card, but I didn't install the software that came with it.
