here it is

cant really see the point in it tbh, its not going to be any faster than a 6800GT/U, and it wont touch a 7 series.

but i suppose they get points for trying

gigabytes attempt didnt even whip up a breeze...so why theyre bothering i dont know

It was? Not in my opinion... If it truly was competitive, the company would have existed another year or so... But since it pretty much flopped after the Voodoo5, I'd say that it was rather uncompetitive.

voodoo 5 wasnt competitive at all...and it basically sealed 3dfx's fate.

- Taps into SLi marketing campaign
- I think nvidia is phasing out the 6800, so this would replace that performance niche.

- Leadtek might be testing out its DualGPU technique on a low end card before it attempts something higher up?

I agree, I think that dual gpus are the future of video cards as we are currently pushing the limits of silicon. while this card may offer us nothing in terms of price/performance it is a step forward and it is also a marketable product that Leadtek can use to show to their investors their progress with the dual gpu tech.

I have no proof or links for any of this, its just idle speculation. :p

the V5 6000 was well faster than anything else out at the time, though it never was offically released so I suppose that isn't the best comparison. The 5500 on the other hand didn't quite keep up with the gts, but the voodoo 4s/5s did have better image quality than many cards including the highest quality aa method ever avalable on a gaming card.

And 3dfx had all sorts of problems that lead to their downfall including how late to market they were with their last cards, but the cards themselves were quality peices of hardware.
