The case fans are no comparison, you can barely hear them with all the noise the GT is making. At desktop, the GT seems to blend in.

On other notes: NeoPower PSUs from Antec are heavy Fckers. This is one of the heaviest rigs I've ever built. The door of the P180 seems kinda flimsy. The P180 doesn't have a speaker connection so that I can hear beeps from the system. MSI has great documentation compared to Asus. 7800 driver options are pretty cool. You can choose less acurrate AA, Transparent AA, which appears as a higher quality AA, and finally, Triple Buffering which I think should work in both OpenGL and Direct3D.

and: Something is a little weird when I start up, the bios sometimes displays a gray offcentered shade on the screen, but only in the BIOS stage. It still does things in the background, so Idk what it is, maybe it's the video card. Maybe it's the Mobo. Idk.

The fan ramps up to full speed when you boot and then winds down when you get into Windows where the driver can control it.

Really??? I have 6600gts and they dont ramp up on start. But I have 4 case fans so that probably covers the noise...

maybe the 6600gt doesnt get that hot or doesnt need it. i see most of the higher end cards ramp up on startup like my x800xt. im not saying that 6600gts arent high end, i would've got one also but at the time wanted ATI and settled for a $250 x800pro on ebay but got an xt instead :Q. i wish it didnt but i'll have to live with it for now until i get a vf700Cu for it :D

and to VIAN: the p180 is made mostly of steel so its obvious that its one heavy mofo when its full, my tx640b is heavy too and its a mid-tower :frown:

My BFG 7800GT goes full speed at boot, and then drops down in Windows I think. I don't remember. I use a VF700 now so I could care less about the stock cooler.
