Leadtek 7350KDA (SiS735): 6 PCI, CPU Clock Tuning in 1Mhz increments, coming next week!!

Nice! Looks better than the ECS. I hope I'll see them at computer shows. I've never seen any vendors selling Leadtek motherboards before.

Pretty cool. I already got the ECS board, but I like the fact that we're seeing really good sub-$80 mobo's again.

Yep, I already got the ECS board too, but it would be nice to have some voltage/clock manipulation 🙂 More info from OCWorkbench:

that's news to me...they make mobos?

they probably saw ECS gobbling up tons of sales w/ the k7s5a and though, what the heck...

wow...am i the only one that knows leadtek makes mobos...? hehehe

Only reason I know is b/c I saw it on their site a while ago lol hehe But...their last mobo was a slot1, so that's prolly why no one knows about'em lol

( Does anyone know if the ECS board will support AthlonXPs features?)

Yes it does/will support Athlon XP. Obviously 😛😉😀 (j/k).

<< Woo hoo....

3 DDR DIMM slots. 🙂 I am glad I waited. Time to trash this P4.

Send it my way for testing. 😉

SiS745 looks to be coming in Half 1 '02 so we still have a while to wait for that. (Check the SiS Features Roadmap at vr-zone)

Seems only the low-budget mobo makers are producing this chipset (Ex: ECS, Chaintech, Leadtek)

That is probably because Via is supposedly offering discounts on their chipsets to the big guys to not use the Sis chipset and stick to Via's only.... Remember MSI cancelled their Sis board supposedly because it had some sort of flaw in the chipset? These ECS boards seem to be selling like hotcakes with no flaws reported...

Yeah, they were worried that when consumers didn't find a CD-ROM labelled "4-in-1 driver pack" in the retail box they'd be scared and wonder what the heck was going on 😀

There's no doubt MSI pulled the plug on K735 due to pressure from VIA, but the low performance of the initial reference K735 certainly made it an easier choice, no doubt.

SiS 735 remains a performance and price/performance leader. KT266A will at best offer only marginal performance gains for twice the cost, and you're stuck with VIA chipsets. No thank you 😀
