Leadtek 6800gt Problems

THis is brand new i just got it.

I pop it in i turn it on and everything is great. After a bit i try to install drivers i notice blue and yellow corruption accross the monitor. I go and try to install the drivers thinking maybe that will help. -- no it froze on a black screen. I think, ok fluke, i turn off my pc and restart.

I have graphics display problems on Post.

I'm thinking ok thats not good.

I go and try to install the drivers again and mid way through it freezes up. My computer freezes up.

I'm guessing the heatsink isn't touching the gpu. Thats my guess. Anyone have any idea on how they fixed this problem?

All my PC info is in my sig. The leadtek 6800gt is an AGP card.

What I emailed Leadtek:

I have 4 case fans plus the power supply unit (PSU) fans. I have a Enermax 430watt PSU.

I have a Bachelors degree in computers and I can assure you my computer is fine other than the graphics card. My previous card worked fine. I have not gottin this problem until I installed your graphics card.

What is the problem? I just got it and its brand new."
 
RMA with Leadtek is pretty painless, I had to RMA my 6800GT to them- same issues as you. I mailed it to them on a Wed, they got it on Fri, and I had my new card on Tues of the following week.

ok cool - i am RMA'ing my card back to newegg. Hopefully it'll be good after that.
