Leadtek 6800GT, $394.75 shipped, in stock

Hard for me to believe that $400 could ever be a fair price for a vid card, or that a few dollars below MSRP could ever qualify as a "hot deal" for any computer hardware! Nonetheless, I was having a bear of a time finding one of these from a known vendor, so now that I have I figure I ought to de-lurk and share the love.

I bought a PNY 6800GT from them when their site said it was in stock... of course it wasnt, when the card was supposed to be shipped it was delayed for at least a week, and I was charged still.

Good luck.

Hmm, I rec'd the fedx tracking number this afternoon, and *something* left LA tonight, so it was accurate as of today, anyway.

Well, the card arrived today, as promised. Of course, the card is defective right out of the box (massive video corruption from boot screen on, even tried an alternative power supply, no difference).

The lack of shrink wrap or any sealing sticker on the box or stat bag also makes me suspect that it was a previously returned card, but I don't, of course, have any proof of this. Nonetheless, I'd caution others to be wary of buying this product from gameve.com (and if you're thinking of buying anything else from them, be aware that they don't answer their phones, nor do they pay shipping on defective RMA returns--not what I would call strong customer support).

That really sucks, sorry to hear of your troubles. I will certainly remember your experience with them...thanks...and sorry....

That's the way I felt when I bought my ATI 128MB 9800 Pro for $335 a while back. Think I'll hold off for a while longer before I take the plunge again.

Didn't gameve do this with another video card deal a couple of months ago, BFG FX5900? Lot's of folks said they received what appeared to be used/returned cards.

Yes gameeve was that company that was sending out defective BFG 5900 several months ago.

i can confirm that this is a shady company, along with xtremegear.com

anyone know a good 6800GT that does not take up a PCI slot?
