Leadtek 2000XP Expert PVR only getting 2 channels.... pls help~

My cable line has a splitter on it that goes to the cable modem and to the TV (digital cable). i put another splitter on the line going into the cable box and connected it to the Leadtek PVR. I can only get channel 5 and 6 for some reason... Please help! Thanks.
