Wish I had seen this yesterday. :) I guess I'll find out Thursday what card I got.

odd thing is, if u capture in mpeg2 format, you have to view it in their proprietary software. there is some codec that is used and WMP or your default mpeg viewer wont recognize it. im not sure about avi files and the other half dozen of media types, however.

that is why none of us sent u a copy. also, im getting some odd lines on certain channels. others look pretty good.

what i also noticed after having this card is that it replicates the quality from your tv pretty well. i was noticing a little "snow" on the monitor and decided to get a close up of a tv. sure enough, there is the snow on any of the tvs in our house. just goes to show how accurate the tv tuner card is.

bump

New software package is out. The drivers look to be the same, but the software package is new. It has eliminated all the crashing in the program.

I have been having problems with sound however. When I turn on the the TV tuner application, the sound will be fine, but after a few mintues the sound will cut out completely. It only happens with the leadtek software, as my system sounds/winamp etc will still play fine. Anyone know what problems I may be having? I have an AMD 2000, 512 DDR ram, SB Audigy OEM, and I am running windows XP pro.

Edit: Installed the latest Audigy drivers, problem solved. The software works perfectly now, no bugs. Just curious, what quality settings do you guys use for recording TV programs?

Besides just general blurriness, all the channels that come in clearly (relatively) have double images of some degree. It seems like a cable problem. Maybe I should have paid the extra four bucks for the cable with the screw-on connectors instead of push-on at Radio Shack, huh? This is a new apartment and I've never used a TV here, so I don't know what the normal reception is like, but this is pretty bad. Any ideas?

Oh also, I have an LCD display, but I don't think it's ghosting, because I've seen bad reception on a TV before and this is what it looks like. Multiple images galore.

You have to select a different Tuner mode in the TV application's Tuner setup. There's NTSC and NTSC(... something else behind NTSC I forgot).
Then let it scan the channels again.

I ordered the Leadtek, and have been playing with it for a while... It does Divx Direct encoding.... which the TV wonder doesnt (at least i cant get it to) The de-interlacing features are REALLY nice.... I'd take it over a TV wonder, although it doesnt have the nifty breakout box. It also has FM radio.....

Just got mine from newegg a couple of days ago (a deluxe). Great quality compared with my Win TV (couple of yrs old). PowerVCR II doesn't crash on me either.

Question: What are you using for Divx encoding? I tried Divx4 1-pass 1500 bit rate, at slowest and slow, 640x480 on my 1600+, but it was choppy. Mpeg2 encodes fine 6000 bit rate, but give 3-4x file size. Any tricks, or just more horsepower needed.

CC didn't work for me either.

Ordered one - took the shot with newegg, as the pics show deluxe.

Looks like a good deal!

Hey, i just ordered one from Newegg.com.. hope that it works out..
I have two questions..

The line on the tv tuner for sound out needs to go to your "line-in" on your sound card. And then turn your line in volume up.

My Leadtek card arrived Friday from Newegg. $60.99 - delivered - and it is the "Deluxe" version. This is an awesome card!!!

For the user who can't get any sound of the card, have you utilized the audio cable between the "out" plug on the Leadtek card and the "Line In" jack on your sound card? If you have this connected, pull up the volume control box and see if the "Line In" option has the check box next to "Mute." If it does, then this could be the reason for not gettin any sound.

did anyone fix the problem of the radio program shutting down? I can't seem to find a fix for this. Thanks!

Edit: What is the best format for recording tv shows? I have a p4 1.3 GHz. Is my computer fast enough to use the divx codec?

Thanks again!
