The reason I ask is that I've seen both internal and external audio connections for TV tuners. My Pinnacle USB TV (sucks) uses an external audio 1/8" jack for audio (both viewing and recording), and I get a lot of buzzzzzzzzzzzing. I think I've seen some ATI TV cards use an internal connector, which I assume gives less interference. Does this card connect internally? Thanks.

gosh that internal connector you mention would be sweet.

anyways, i dont think this card has it. atleast if it did, there was no connector to do the hookup (just the external 1/8" one). nonetheless, i dont hear "buzzzzzzzzzzzing" from my speakers.

as for plain viewing, yeah you do need to connect the wires up. it looks sorta tacky having a long wire from the sound card to the tv tuner which is literally inches away from each other, but thats what you gotta do. however, my solution was simply to leave the wire in it's twisty tie and just simply plug each end into their respective connections.

hope this info helps.

Thanks Lichee. I think I'll stick with my buzzing Pinnacle card for now. Why can't TV card manufacturers just use some sort of wav software conduit so that no extra connections would be needed at all?

Yeah...I love my new tv card. Today I just recorded 13 hours worth of Dead Zone since there was a marathon on. I had the same problem with the drivers...I tried the normal way..and it didnt work...so finally I broke down and read the manual. Yeah the first time I had the sound problem I read the manual and it said that if you connect your speakers while recording you wouldnt have sound for recording...but the update completely changed that. I was able to use the Ulead Editor software once..after that I got errors non stop from that program...but the recorder and tuner still work. Now I need to find some good DV editor to use. Any CHEAP suggestions???

LOL! those fudgers!! i read that and thought "ok, i better not plug in anything. it should record sound just fine as is". welp, after recording the whole US Open match between sampras and agassi, i later find out nothing is audible. it turned out that it was just as you mentioned. the audio cables need to be hooked up from tv tuner to sound card.

luckily that tennis match wasnt that great or i would be pissed! :)

Ok...so it looks like there is a bunch of us with this problem with winXP...I'll be on the lookout for some updates.

As for the remote...mine has a little "MTS" button on the top (deluxe version remote) to toggle between MTS stereo and Mono TV sound. From what I gather, the deluxe version adds MTS stereo TV reception over the mono reception of the non-deluxe.

Yeah...I really enjoy it...I test out the video from my custom setting for quality..pretty good! ..Let me say I loved the dead zone on my monitor! I used to only have a 13" tv..so a 19"monitor is a huge difference!

To reply to the person who asks about whether one can switch to Stereo from Mono: I have found out that some stations only have SAP and Mono to choose from where as others have SAP Mono and Stereo to choose from.

As far as all those people who have errors with the radio: If you are wondering if I did anything different from your install to get it working, i guess it would be the fact that i went online and downloaded drivers and installed those (though i later found out they were the exact same as on the cd).

On a side note: i have figured out how to schedule recordings woo :). Both for TV and Radio.
Apparently one can switch between regions. One can have the 148 channel setup like in Austria, the 70+ channel setup of other nations or the USA standard 125. I still cant find 181 as advertised.
And a new feature i just found for the FM tuner is the ability to scan the whole band of frequencies for stations, and one can adjust the sensitivity to find weaker stations.

The Netmeeting feature is SO COOL, i havent tested it out yet (because i dont have internet just yet, but when i get internet ill test is out first thing). The nest thing is that netmeeting ability is integrated into the Leadtek software, making it very easy.

This is trully an awesome card.

I got mine today and it was the deluxe version. I ordered on Thursday. Anyone know how to change the format the timeshifting function uses? Everything works well except that when using the timeshifting function there is a small issue. If I watch on a 30 second delay: the first 30 seconds of audio is repeated over and over but the video is fine.

One other question: How does one turn the TV on with the remote? I hit the power button but nothing happens. The remote works fine otherwise.

I just got my card today. Its a pretty nice card... only problem is I only have a Mic In, and no Line in on my soundcard, so the volume control on the remote doesn't work. Is there any way for me to change it?

Also the mic in produces a buzzzing sound =(

Edit:

Fixed, everything works great.
