Leading GOP presidential candidate will create a database to track American Muslims

So American citizens would be subject to special registration and tracking just because they are Muslim? Isn't this against two conservative mantras? Religious freedom and intrusive federal government?

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he would “absolutely” use a database to track Muslims in the U.S.

“I would certainly implement that,” Trump said Thursday
Trump had said earlier Wednesday that he believes that the war on terror will require unprecedented surveillance of America’s Muslims.

Then again this may just give Trump the nomination lock.

More like Christian freedom. The rest can go fuck themselves.

Isn't the US government already doing this? This sounds like an expansion of what's already happening.

If people want to feel safe then they will end up having to give up some freedoms. The GOP is simply giving the people what they want.

The GOP has become the party of pussies, for pussies, and by pussies. Their policies are based on fear, they are afraid to lead on anything, and they use fear to push the generic policies they do come up with to other pussies.

7 years of calling Obama a dictator, a facist. Comparing him to Hitler. And yet this will get full support from the right. They will line up here to defend it or tell us what he "really means".

This is just disturbing.

But still they call the free thinkers libtards, racists, bigots, weak and trying to experiment with American society and trying to make the America the laughing stock of the whole world.

My answer to that is, are they sure they're not talking about themselves?

* Changing the constitution to make legal citizens into "illegals" (anchor babies)
* "Monitoring" and censoring schools for leftists views
* Establishing a "deportation force" which will roam the streets to uncover illegals and [insert whatever here]
* Fear mongering (Mexican rapists, refugees)
* General racism and blaming folks of certain ethnicity for whatever problems
* Tracking people who belong to certain religions
* The idea that "true Americans" exist which are mostly white and always conservative and which of course are never left/liberals/progressive.
* Hate for liberals/the left and and calling everyone "not American" if they don't agree with extreme views.

No, I DON'T see any parallels to fascism. At all. /SARCASM

And you guys think that Suspected Radical Muslims aren't already being watched by the Democrat Administration.

OK.

And you guys think that Suspected Radical Muslims aren't already being watched by the Democrat Administration.

OK.

The number of them is in 1000s, we're talking about 1,000,000s here..

Now the real question is... how do you know which ones are radical?

Ignoring just how Orwellian it is to start tracking everyone who belongs to a certain belief. How do you know who is who, especially once you bring in a program like this and people are not going to want to admit to it.

It will lead to straight racial profiling. Anyone with any heritage from 'the list' of countries will get tracked and be considered to be a muslim. This is someone who thinks they are qualified to lead a country ? That would come up with a policy like this ?

This policy can be the opening chapter's subject in his Final Solution part 2, on shelves in 2018.

It will be "very" interesting when the voting really begins, with the caucuses starting in February, just to see exactly how crazy Americans really are or have become?
I still expect Jeb to shock everyone and actually become the front runner, when the voting really starts.
Iowa could go either way because iOwa is iOwa, after all.
The land of the loonies as it were.

But beyond iOwa, we'll see just how bad things really are or have become.
Personally, I Can't wait.... 😉

We already monitor all communications on the internet. Whats the difference anymore? Until people start caring about stuff like that this is (in all honesty) a drop in the bucket in comparison.

I mean really, when you are born you are henceforth docuemented by your race, parents, parents occupation, etc... Is it really that MUCH to add a "religion" field to that? I'm not saying I'm advocating for giving the government more information, I'm just saying you dumbasses have let sharks sail on pass - but a tiny fish swims by and you're all up-in-arms.

I saw a report about this on the Rachel Maddow show tonight and the first thought that occurred to me, was:

"What makes you think the government doesn't already have a database to track Americans in general (including religion in a person's profile)?"
