Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West - does anyone have it?

does anyone have this game? it sorta looks interesting but it doesn't seem like there is a big enough population online (steam) for this game. i say this because it isn't even in like top 75 populated steam game list, which means at best it has about 200 players.

if anyone bought it, please comment on whether there are enough people online to enjoy the game with.

from what i know it's only being sold on steam.

According to the Steam forums, the population is small. I wonder why, besides the fact that it is basically TF2 in the WW, as this looks real interesting to me. Waiting for it on PS3 though.

I have it, but I haven't played all that much of it (I have 2hrs total logged on steam).

Why? It's just not that fun. It's inherently laggy due to p2p connection (they said they were going to introduce dedicated servers, but I haven't seen it).

i see.
this reminds me of shattered horizons, a game i can't play anymore due to the lack of online population.
interestingly, these are the types of games i would like to support as i am only interested in multiplayer games but honestly the only time when these games are playable is for the couple weeks following release because after that, the population just vanishes...

Yea, I hear you.

Lead and Gold is definitely one of those games that would definitely be better with a patch or two, but the online community will not grow.

Shattered Horizons is one game that you mentioned that has the same problem. Another is a kart racer called Zero Gear. It was originally plagued by crappy netcode (and high price), but now it's just a game on my game list that will likely be never played again because of the lack of community.

I'm hesitant now in buying indie multiplayer games. I'm interested in Plain Sight, but all of my past experiences tell me that that game will be dead in a month.

That's the problem with most indie or small company games. Even if the game is good, it doesn't get a lot of exposure and doesn't get bought by many people so the community sucks and no one plays it.
