France played like crap in their opening matches and I was expecting the Spanish to spank them, but damn.

They're playng Brazil next. If both teams can play like today (or better), it will be an awesome match.
 
I really enjoyed watching the French team play today, great teamwork and chemistry between the players. I expect Brazil to win the next match, but I'm sure France will give them some trouble.
 
LOL Henry..beautiful acting job!! VIVE LA FRANCE...I hate the Spanish team, Henry owned them with their own game (diving). 98 finals rematch!!! C'est fantastique!
 
Spain did it again, with so many talents over the years and yet always manage to choke went it counted. France played extremely well today.
 
i was rooting for spain... oh well this will make for an interesting game... brazil vs. france... they way brazil was playing today... i think the french may have them beat.
 
I think France definitely deserved to win this one. You can complain about Henry's acting, but Spain's penalty shot was given on a questionable call as well. France simply executed better and had way more chances/shots on goal than Spain did. And that last goal by Zidane was pure brilliance.

I hope so, as an England supporter I'd rather play France than Brazil in the semis.

This was an amazing game. I'm so happy France finally showed up and kicked some ass. It made me real glad that Zidane got his goal in too.

Yea, I'm not making that assumption yet...

I've read/watched a lot of people say that Portugal is a technically superior side, based on the way England are playing at the moment. On the other hand England have more to give and Portugal are a weakened side - no Deco, no Ronaldo (probably), and another one too.

France did not kick ass. They had the game handed to them:

- clearly offsides on their goal, or so I thought
- Torres was taken down. but no penalty called b/c the ref lacked the balls to call a second penalty
- Henri takes out Puyol and the foul call goes in Henri's favor, leading to a French goal off of the "set piece".

That's a three goal turn-around, all due to the ref. I'm pretty disgusted, what can I say?
