I just received an LCD monitor from Dell, and I've been having trouble adjusting. I used to use a CRT monitor (for gaming), and I;'ve been noticing more "tearing" on this lcd monitor than I had with my CRT (which is about 4 years old) Also, when I'm playing, if i encounter some fog, or some translucent object, I can notice the pixels of the screen for about a second, then they go away, it's no where near as clear looking as my crt. Also, when I'm scrolling through text, the text becomes blurry, which did not happen as bad on my crt. Is this so with all lcd monitors? btw its a 2005fpw, I'm thinking about having it returned, and switch back to my 19 inch crt.

If you are concerned that its not working properly and you are not satisfied with it,
then by all means return it now and end the anguish.

Are you using a DVI connector ? If not, I recommend trying that. If you are, then yes, all of them will probably look like that.

not true exactly. my lcd, which is a little tiny at 15 inches, is a samsung 512n and i couldn't love it more. no ghosting or anything whatsover. makes my computer look good too. You probably dont have a quick enough response time. You should get one with 12ms or less.

The 2005FPW has been reported as just fine for gaming. I however will not give up my Viewsonic A90f+ until it gives up on me....

The tearing is probably because you don't use Vsync (I always use Vsync). The blurry text is just the latency of the LCD. I too reacted to it when I first made the switch, but it is no longer bothersome. To me any such thing is worth it, CRTs are just so nasty to work with in comparison to an OK LCD.

Edit: I did actually notice tearing much more with my LCD than I did with my CRT. I think it seems like CRTs are so blurry to begin with that tearing effects and such just don't show that much.
