What is the point? Is there anything you can use these for if you already have a nice set of speakers, such as hooking them up with the others for some kind of weird surround sound system. Or are you stuck with speakers on your monitor that are of no use. I'm wondering if they are even worth the extra price that they tack on to a monitor.
 
I agree...they are useless unless you are really tight on space. I also believe high end HDTVs should not have built in speakers. Anyone who purchases one of these should have a Dolby Digital/DTS reciever with a 5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1 set up.
 
I also agree with Kyte and the Pee Dr...

an added expense I could do without. If they are going to bother, why not just create a mic/headphone jack pass-through to the rear of the PC?
