Im finally looking to move on from my old KDS 19" CRT to a brand spanking new oo la la LCD.

I am on a budget here so no 23" WideScreen LCDs for me.

Mostly I watch movies, browse internet, and play some MMORPGs and FPS games.
My budget is probably around $350.

I would like to get a resolution higher than 1280x1040. I was looking into a 19" widescreen by Hanns-G previously, but I came here for some inputs on other brands and models.

I would love to get a widescreen, but I don't know much about it. It just looks cool!
Would a widescreen have any negative impact on gaming? (if the game supported 16:10 res)

My choice would be a Samsung 19", not wide screen. Buy the best quality Samsung you can get within your budget range.

Also, I would NOT buy a computer LCD for watching movies, if I wanted to watch movies I would watch them on either a Plasma or LCD TV (that way you will avoid going blind, or at least put it off for a while).

Good luck.

90% of the time would be games and browsing the web hehe. I don't have much time to watch movies.

I believe you will find the ViewSonic VX2025wm to be one of the best reasonably-priced widescreen LCDs available.

I own one, and it is easily the best LCD monitor I have ever seen or used. It has some very minor nitpicks, which you can read about here, but it is currently the best 20" widescreen LCD available at the most reasonable price.
