LCD screenburn?

is it possible for LCD's to develop something similar to screenburn on CRTs? (talking about crappy laptop LCD btw)

Yes. I accidently did that to a laptop at work a while ago. I went Start, Shut Down, closed it, and left. What I didn't realize was that it came up with the, "It is now safe to turn off your computer," screen and that it didn't turn off the screen after a while like normal. 🙁 Needless to say, it is now permanently safe to turn off that laptop. 😀 It was old, so nobody cared. It also wasn't that badly burned in. Kind of faint actually. Shutting up now.

ups

you can try setting it to a grey screen, and then just cranking up the contrast and brightness, and let it sit for a few hours.

at least, that's how to "cure" the burn-in on plasmas. I'd imagine it works on the same principle. 🙂

😕

I get some screen burn that will last for a couple hours on my 1800fp from my icq list if it switches to a green background.
So I say yes.
