Alright, I'm in the market for an LCD screen. I'm going to be using it for regular stuff (AIM) and I also plan on playing some of the latest games on it. I don't play games too often, but I still want a really nice monitor so it won't look like crap.
I've been checking out the Sony HX-73. The thing that appeals to me the most about it is the incredible brightness. I saw it at the store, but when I started reading on the internet it was getting subpar reviews. So, then I looked around some more. The Planar PE170 looks like it might be the one to go with. The comparable brightness to the Sony and excellent video quality seem to fit my bill.
Brightness is a huge issue. The monitors that I see at the store with only 250 nits look way too dim.
Is the Planar going to be good enough for gaming? Are there any other good LCD's for gaming that have a good brightness?
Oh, yeah it's a 17" monitor that I'm looking for, cost is not a concern. Thanks ahead for replies.
