LCD screen response times

Hey guys

Is a TFT display panel with a response time of 25 ms any good for gaming? I know that units with a 16ms response time are ideal, but is 25ms okay?

Thanks.

I think a lot depends on which LCD, how much of a gamer you are, and how critical you are. Also, if the LCD has DVI input, the results will be better as well.

I agree that it depends on which specific LCD. Since there is more then one way to measure response time it should be considered a guide, but not the only important factor. Mine (Samsung 192t) is rated at 25ms and I game all the time with no problem. Some 25ms ones are good, others are not so good.

Hello... Depends on the monitors... I have found that many companies monitors vary even though they all may claims to have a 25 ms response time. My recommendation would be to stick to the Samsung line (192T, 213 T). I have the 213 T model (21.3") and it is just AWESOME!!😀

I play games on my monitor including Call of Duty, Battlefield 1942 (soon to buy Battlefield Vietnam), and Medieval Total War (can't wait for Rome Total War)

There is some minor (and I do mean minor) ghosting in COD / Battlefield. After you play the game for a minute you really don't see it anymore. I have had my monitor for a few months now and I can't see the ghosting at all unless I am really trying to look for it. You just adjust. Definately get and LCD the brightness and just plain beauty will make up for any deficiency!

Enjoy!

I agree with the above statements, I`m using the older Samsung 191T in DVI mode for gaming and can really only see slight ghosting if I look for it,overall I find it fine for my personal gaming ,btw using DVI where possible is the way to go with LCDs.

I'd also have to say yer eyes matter, I appear to have slow eyes cous I can see no ghosting with my "old" prophetview 720 which has I think 30 ms speed claimed.
