Oh yeah, I have never had or been able to find a dead pixel on the Planar 18.1...amazing considering the size of the screen. On the Powerbook I will notice a blank pixel now and then. Gently rubbing the screen with a soft cloth usually brings it back to life within a second or two.
Is it ok to use those rubbing alcohol moisty nap things? My lappy screen always needs cleaning but I'm nervous about it and a plain softcloth don't cut it after a sneeze goes renegade.
I heard some of the laptop displays are semi-permeable, also my dad called Dell once and they said only use a soft cloth. All I can say is I can't wait until I get my 19" for my new main computer. 😀
be careful - most paper products scratch glass. A soft cloth is the ticket. I have some screen cleaner with re-usable anti-static cloth wipes, but frankly I try to clean it as little as possible.
