Cards cost money... heh. AGP cards are rare and overpriced these days, I wonder if regular 9600Pro would do those resolutions (no gaming, obviously). Hopefully there's someone who's willing to trade me a regular 9600Pro for my AIW equivalent.

Do you know of any articles that cover the image quality difference between VGA and DVI?

Well I got the 2007WFP, and got someone to trade me their 9700Pro for my 9600Pro so I could use DVI.

Man, this thing is awesome! It's great having all this screen real estate to work with, helps especially with Premier, Photoshop, and even makes it way easier doing word processing... the colors are great, but honestly I can't say it's worlds apart from my old Viewsonic VG151 in that regard. Viewing angle is definitely nice, being able to sit off center and still use it, and being able to rotate.

My only gripe with this panel is that the anti-glare coating makes the entire surface look kinda speckled when displaying white. I suspect a glossy screen would look better for that.

Thanks for all the advice and such.

congrats on your purchase!

personally, I noticed no significant difference on my soyo going from d-sub to DVI.
I think 8500 would be fine though unless you play requirement heavy games...
