Have you checked the power supply board for any damage?

I know the tendency is to focus on the first sign of something fried (which you did and did well) but quite often there is damage elsewhere as well.

Yup, and don't ignore it and continue to use the device. It's very well that the problem that failed caused the the other part your replaced to fail. I would try to find the cause of that sound ... Sounds like Power Supply Caps or something not right. You might even want to check the parts your just replaced to make sure they are not heating up again.

Sad part about replacing parts is ... Sometimes you get a bad replacement part.

Edit:

It's always nice to have a service manual to check for correct voltages. That's the fun part I guess of tracking down problems yourself. Sometimes if your lucky the voltages are printed on the circuit board but that is becoming more rare these days. But if you can find out the correct voltages for the power supply it will be worth it to check. That's the only REAL way your going to know if it's fixed or not.

The same exact thing happened to me today on the same exact model TV but mine is the Master, not the Slave. Hopefully ordering a new set of boards on ebay like captain did will solve the problem. My PSU also looks good, no popped capacitors or anything. Any extra input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
