I am looking at LCD and Plasma TV at the 40" range.
Full 1080HD is nice, and most of them has at least one HDMI port.
However, I don't seems to see HDCP listed in any of them.
Is it important to find a TV with HDCP or does TV not have that feature?
Thanks!

If it has an HDMI connection, you're good to go. However at the 40" mark, you'll only be able to find an LCD at 1080p. The smallest plasma at 1080p is a 50" and that is $8000. So if you just have to have 1080p, LCD will be the most affordable of the two.

Really?
How come a computer monitor requires HDCP and a TV doesn't?

HDMI=HDCP. No computer monitor uses HDMI. The reason computer monitors have to be certified as being HDCP, because DVI doesn't automatically mean it is HDCP certified. You have DVI and then you have DVI-HDCP. When someone says their computer monitor is HDCP ready, that means the DVI connection is HDCP certified. A TV or computer monitor doesn't HAVE to be certified to play HD movies, they just have to be HDCP certified to play HD movies using the HDCP flag. No movie yet uses the HDCP flag. Movies won't use it until I believe 2008 or 2009.
