LCD options??

I was in staples today and checking out LCD's and saw the Envision EV7100 sitting there for $409. How is this monitor and hows the refesh rate? Also an other ismilar priced alternatives

LCDs to do not refresh. If you're talking about the EN-7100s/si the specs are

250cd/m2 brightness
400:1 contrast ratio
Response time - 30ms

Decent monitor for everyday use, definitely not for gaming. For $409, I'd rather purchase a Dell 1800fp. More real estate, DVI, and overall IMHO a better monitor

If you want gaming, you want low response time. 25ms or even lower, down to 16ms (if you have loads of cash).

If you want a gaming monitor (16ms) in that price range you would be a fool not to buy the HITACHI CML174SXW for $408. It has a 16ms reponse time and uses the same au panel as the Viewsonic VP171b, NEC 1760, and Planar PX171. Its a great monitor for a reasonable price.

Or if you needed black and didn't want the speakers the HITACHI CML174SXWB would be the right choice at $438.
