I have XP SP2 also, but other than that the only similarity is we both have sound blaster cards. I wonder if uninstalling the drivers for that will do anything. I'm currently running the OpenAL drivers for it.

I had my clock working for a bit too, but it would freeze after a few seconds.

i got it to work before i left for the office this morning. i went into msconfig and unchecked some programs that would normally startup and one of them was the creative volume control in the system tray. i'm not sure if that's the only thing that was causing conflict, but i also stopped Nerocheck, Persono Software, and InCD from loading up.

some LCD process would hang, either clock or performance manager, when i would try and restart. i tried multiple times to restart and those process would still hang. so i forced closed those apps, shut down completely and booted after 2 minutes. clock and cpu/ram usage now show correctly. the default profiles for wow and battlefront are also showing up. when i get home i'll try and narrow down which program was the sole cause of LCDMon from hanging.

good luck on yours.

Reading the various posts regarding the software for the G15 all I can say is 'damn'. It runs smoothly on my K8N-E Deluxe system running both XP Pro SP2 and XP Pro x64 SP1 with a Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS and also on the roomates A7N8X-E Deluxe system under XP Pro SP2 w/ the Audigy 2ZS with no need to kill any programs in task manager or at boot time. After around 20+ years of messing with computers and many months of trying to crash various computers I can only say that it is a good idea to check that you have current versions of drivers and patches for the software you are having to kill before you blame the problem solely on the logitech software. Never hurts to try it on a freshly rebuilt system with current drivers etc...

I think the software is buggy. I tend to leave my PC on and not shut it off for several days. Every now and then the LCD software does hang so I force quit all of them and restart the LCD through the profiler.

On a side note, the keyboard works great for FF Online but for BF2 it doesn't seem to like typing capitals. Like if I try recording a macro for when I use C4. I can push k CAPs then "C4 PLANTED" or all lower cases but for some reason Shift+c etc doesn't get recorded and the macro doesn't work. Tried in and out of game too. Anyone else have this?

if people are still having problems with it, i found out that some versions of zone alarm will cause the LCDmon to hang. so check your software firewall and good luck.

i haven't tried using the shift key for macros. i found it easier to just use caps.

I've had constant issues with my G15 keyboard as well. I can't get the LCD to work properly. I can get it to display the clock and media info, but no performance/CPU info. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

The software provided has been extremely glitchy for me. I don't know why I can't get the applets to run properly sometimes. A lot of times, when I enable the LCDClock.exe, it freezes up the keyboard and my computer. I don't know what it could be. What was the exact process you went through to install the software?

Well, I've got it to show up the RAM usage somehow, but it still isn't showing anything about the CPU. Ugh, this is frustrating.

if you have previous keyboard software, i would uninstall that first. other then that, i just installed normally. plug keyboard in > install software > reboot.

if you're behind a router and still running a software firewall, i would uninstall the software firewall to see if that fixes it. i noticed that the clock would work on the LCD for just a second before my Zone Alarm finished loading up. after that, the clock would just freeze.

I'm glad to see the original problem (more or less) solved with a replacement keyboard.

I've been using this keyboard for about a week, and I really like the possibilities it offers. I have, however, run into a similar issue that I have found NO resolution for either with several web searches NOR with a search here. Actually, the one web search that turned up anything pointed to this thread.

The issue is, occasionally when I start up my Win XP Home homebrew PC, I get a message once at the desktop that "LGDCore.exe failed to initialize properly" and I have to press "OK" to terminate it. My LCD screen works fine even after that, but it is the "G" keys that are inoperable at that point. I have a few applications (iTunes, BF2, TeamSpeak, Calculator, etc.) mapped to the G keys in the default profile, and after that particular error message comes up, none of the G keys work.

What's more strange to me is that I can restart and get the error message several times in a row, and then one time it will start up normally and everything is fine.

Strange. Logitech's site has NO helpful info on this issue. This first software iteration is crap...I hope they're working on an updated version.
