LCD Monitor??

If you plan on gaming, your monitor selection should be important. I think it's more important than what you put in your system, honestly. When they have their coupons going on, Dell usually has the best bang-for-buck monitors. I'd definitely put a little more research into it though 🙂

I would personally say that if you are going to get an LCD, at the very least get one that supports DVI.

You don't really need DVI. Especially if you're switching over from a CRT. I personally have a difficult time telling the difference between a DVI and an analog.

Ill have to keep a eye on Dells monitors although thats a company I loathe, if they have cheap monitors I will use them to save the $$$.

It's kind of hard to loathe them when talking about monitors...not only do they provide good LCDs, they can get them to you on the way cheap and have the 21 day no hassle return program. That's important since dead pixels are a concern 🙂

I haven't used the original cheap LCD you linked to, but overall I've had good experiences with cheap LCDs. I've never really come across a bad one. If you can, it would be better to get one with a faster response time, such as the one below:

That's probably the best, fast LCD that is anywhere near your original price.

Another faster LCD with a good brand name:

ViewSonic 12 ms LCD

Uh you should seriously check out any company whose prices are way below others due to mail-in rebates:

Currently, prices for 15" LCDs are around say $175, 17" LCDs are around $200, and 19" LCDs are around say $280. Anything significantly lower than that (especially if due to a mail-in rebate) you should be wondering how they figure on staying in business; anything significantly higher than that and you are either paying for performance or paying for brand name.
