I am debating between a two LCD monitors...

1. Samsung 710N
- 600:1 contrast, 12ms refresh time, 300 cd/m2 Brightness, Pixel Pitch 0.26 mm 1280x1024 Max, Analog Interface

OR

2. LG L1730
- contrast 550:1, 12ms refresh time, 250cd/m2 Brightness, Pixel Pitch 0.26 mm, Max 1280 x 1024, DVI connection

Which one is the better buy, something that has DVI or something with the better contrast and brightness?

I was thinking of getting the Samsung 710T because of the DVI connection but dont know whether its worth that extra money. I game, edit video, watch movies and do a lot of surfing the net and msn chat

Hmm i would get the 710T. However if you have enough money i would save and get the Dell 2001FP.

I've used both a Samsung and an LG LCD, and I found the Samsung to be superior; it had better colour reproduction, and less ghosting.

If I were in the market for an LCD right now, I would spend a little extra to get a 19" model w/ DVI (preferrably a Samsung). You can save some money by going w/ BenQ, but I don't have any first-hand experience w/ their displays.

A good 25ms LCD is more than acceptable for gaming, unless you're really fussy.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the 710T. Im running it on the DVI port, and LOVE it. I had a 19" CRT before, and there just isn't any comparison as far as I'm concerned. I game a lot, and I don't notice any ghosting.

I have just purchased a BenQ 767-12 and it looks just incredible. Colours are great and black is superb. No ghosting at all also... I love it.

specs:
12ms, 500:1 contrast, 300cd/m2... I believe is the same panel LG uses (AU-tronics I believe)
